5-year-olds make Christmas better.
One thing I forgot to mention during our very productive weekend was the fact that my dear, sweet, handsome husband stayed up 'till 3 AM organizing the laundry room and "wedding room" as we have dubbed the catch-all room of wedding gifts, decor, scrapbook, memorabilia, etc. He said he knew I'd like to have it in order for the family coming over the next day.
Then, on the way home from church, I asked if he could clean off the front porch, but NO, he had already done that in the wee hours of the morning as well!
Sometimes his insomnia is a blessing.
This morning, Walker, my 5-year-old nephew, sang with his fellow kindergartners at the mall, so naturally, Dad and I skipped work to go see him. One of his sweet classmates handed me a Christmas card that he had colored. I don't know this child from Adam, but he must've thought I needed Jesus. He was right.
Courtney is such a trooper! Walking around the mall looking as cute as a button pushing a stroller with one child in it and one child hanging onto it and one child about to pop outta her on Thursday!
Oh, and here are 5 more handy ideas from my mom-in-law!
.
Pump up the volume by placing your iPhone / iPod in a bowl – the concave shape amplifies the music.
.
.
Re-use a wet-wipes container to store plastic bags.
.
Add this item to your beach bag. Baby powder gets sand off your skin easily – who knew?!
.
.
Attach a Velcro strip to the wall to store soft toys.
..
Look up! Use wire to make a space to store gift wrap rolls against the ceiling, rather than cluttering up the floor.
And, alas, a hilarious video of Ellen's scares this year:
