Jack's Birth Story-Complete & Unabridged

Image
Going Home It was 2:15 on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015. The sun was shining, I was wearing flip-flops, and running errands for work. It was the last day of work before Matt forced me to take off. The induction was set for Friday and by the way thngs were looking,  Jack was not coming out on his own. While I had really hoped I would go into labor on my own,  all my walking, bouncing, pineapple eating, salsa-chugging efforts were going nowhere. This was to be the first deviation from my birth plan. I'm on 19th St. and decide Cinnabon sounds amazing. And so does Schlotsky's! So, I make a detour to grab lunch. As I walk out, I think to myself, "I wonder what would happen if my water broke right here in front of all these people." But that wouldn't happen because only 8% of womens' water breaks on its own. Mommy Fail Numero Uno

I am well aware that I have yet to introduce my son to the blogging world, but I just had to share my Monday morning with you. I had a series of Mommy fails over the last two days. My streak was great the first 7 weeks, but I suppose the humility had to kick in eventually. I started back to work last week, and it's been going really great. The only thing I have yet to nail is arriving at work on time. The first day I was about 30 minutes late. My excuse was that I hadn't nailed down our morning schedule just yet. But now, 1.5 weeks later, I still can't get out of the house on time! Well, on Monday, I woke up right when my alarm went off, got myself ready before the Today show even came on, fed Jack at 7AM, pumped, and was all ready to head out the door ON TIME! As soon as I pick up Jack, I feel something wet on his back. I flip him around to find that his adorable tie and suspenders onesie  is covered with poop in the back. AGGGGHHHH!!!!

The Pros & Cons of Being 37-Weeks Pregnant (Mostly Cons)

It seems that, once again, I have skipped several months of blogging. For a while, there wasn't a lot of change in my routine or pregnancy. I would go to work, go home and watch TV, and was still pregnant. That's it. Lounging in the nursery Then, there was a time where I was just sick of being pregnant but didn't want  to write a blog just to complain. It seems that now that there are some significant advancements, I shall update the blogging world on my progress. I know, I know, you can all sleep peacefully now. At least one of us will be. But, this blog is also a chronicle for me to look back on post L&D and to laugh at in the future when I'm pregnant with #3 or #4 and my pregnancy woes and discomforts are drowned in poopy diapers, screaming children, and snotty noses. I am currently 37 weeks. That means I am within sight of the finish line. At least sometimes I am. Sometimes, I am hopeless and feel like I will be that lady
