What a Beautiful Day to NOT be Sick!

Image
I believe I have finally emerged from the slums! It turns out that my week of lethargy & non-motivation  was just gearing me up for sickness that entertained me all weekend. I attribute Ramon's generosity to sharing this gift with me. But I am finally breathing through both nostrils again, and only have remnants of my whooping cough (or so it sounds). On Sunday, I was able to worship the Lord in a new way. Our dear friends, the Richardson's, have a mentally handicapped daughter who stays at a special home. She brought her friends to church this week, and they sat in the pew behind us. We soon discovered they had a love of music and sang loudly for all to hear. They didn't know the words. They didn't know the melody, but their singing was so beautiful to me. I just cried throughout the whole worship time. And then on the pew beside us was a young Down Syndrome boy. I often see him in church with his parents and brother and am always

Is this week over yet???!!!

Boo. boo. boo..... Have you had one of those days where you feel unmotivated  to brush your hair or change out of your baggy sweats much less go to work, be productive, spend an hour at the gym, and fix dinner? Of course you have. We all have. But what about one of those days that stretches out all week?! Is this natural? I can't remember ever feeling this lethargic. And NO, ladies, I am NOT pregnant! Although I do like to use that excuse anytime I feel this way... thinking to myself, "Well, maybe I'm pregnant." And. honestly, I wish I had that excuse right now b/c I'm feeling downright poopy! The highlight of my whole week was getting my hair done on Monday. Thank you, Christa Black, for this inspirational hair-color photo: I worked out Tuesday. Was so sore yesterday which was my excuse to NOT workout again. Then, I wake up today and am even MORE sore! Plus, I think my darling Hurley Rae contaminated her father who in

Remember the trim I was painting a couples weeks ago? Well, it finally made it into our bathrooms! No matter that the man we hired to install the trim left wood shavings all over our garage on one of the many days it was blowing 40 mph winds last week, decided to set my Wallflower upside down on my jewelry chest causing it to completely leak out and strip the varnish off the chest, and went to the restroom in our bathroom subsequently not flushing and leaving the seat up...But the trim looks good and  I guess, technically, that's all we paid him to do. And then I decided I wanted a new entryway light, so Matt slaved over installing this beaut for me... BEFORE AFTER And while we were in the Home Improvement mode, we bought a new storm door... b/c our house was looking a little out of place without one. Matt & I LOVE doing house projects together, and it has really given him ownership of the house since it was just mine before we got marri

Well, what an eventful week! I haven't written anything this week for a couple reasons: A) I didn't want to be the Debbie Downer of the blogging world B) I wasn't feeling very motivated C) I've been rather consumed with matters of the family...dog family that is. But let me catch you up a bit: Matt & I went to the Lake house at Possum Kingdom last weekend  with my brother, David, his wife, Misty, and our cousin, John, Channing, my pup, and Roxi, their pup. We had a lovely time of relaxation and fishing and reading. The Lake House is usually pretty restful (unless we're all cooped in the house with 7 kids and it rains all weekend like my birthday 2 years ago...) The boys caught at least 60 fish, 40 of which we fried up for dinner that night. Nothing like catching and preparing your own food! This pic tried to capture Matt on all fours in front of the door teaching Zane how to prepare a "surprise attack" for his bully
