2nd Annual Wine & Cheese Party

Matt & I love welcoming people into our home.
I'm a little more wary of it becuase I feel like my house has to be completely in order for us to have any guests over. I realize that most people would think our house was emaculate when I think it's the dirtiest, but what can I say? Mom taugh tme to keep a good hosue.

But now that we're married, we've agreed to invite people over to our house at least once a month. That doesn't sound like a lot, but ask yourself when the last time was you had peple over to your house and you'll relaize opening your home just isn't in a lot of peoples' realm of comfort. Since I was raised in a home with three brothers whom always had their "cute" guy friends over and whose mother had a church couple over to the house every Sunday, I'm more comfortable with it than most...I just need to get over some OCD issues.

Speaking of OCD, Matt is currently cleaning out the junk cabinet in the laundry room. He is a ninja.

All that to say, we started our Wine & Cheese Party idea last year, and it was a success, so it's an annual thing now. We had our 2nd Annual Wine & Cheese Party on Thursday. Everyone brings wine, and/or cheese and a White Elephant gift (anything crappy from your house that you'd like to get rid of). I didn't want people to feel like our party was just another one where they had to drop even more money. Plus, white elephant gifts are HILARIOUS! One man's junk really is another man's treasure.

So, here are some pictures from our fun evening...
Wonderful array of goodies...

And our guests start arriving...

Our wine!!!

Bill & Josh were partners in the Hershey Kiss unwrapping game...

You had to unwrap it with potholders on...

...and put it in the other person's mouth while being timed.
The Robersons...

They were the winners with 12 seconds!

The Berrys

Having a grand 'ole time!

Dave & Misty...the cheaters...did it in 8 seconds and then later confessed there was already an unwrapped Kiss in the bowl.
Quite forceful.

We were actually the winners...but we were also the hosts.

She won beer & pork skins but really only wanted the skins.

Giving away his winnings...

So proud of his Christmas dish...not really.

So in love.
