Being Met
Back from Cancun!!!!
And it was wonderful!
I will dedicate a whole post to it later this week complete with pictures.
Today's blog is all about excitement in new opportunities with my husband.
Two weeks ago, we heard an announcement in church that Life Groups were about to start.
We have been wanting to join one for a while.
Although I've attended Trinity for 23 years, I know only one or two other newly married couples.
So sad!
One of the downfalls of a massive church!
Anyway, we talked to the information desk after service to see how we could connect with
other couples in our age group, newly married or engaged, maybe no kids...
There really wasn't anything.
Really?! In a church with thousands of members?!
Surely this was an area of need that wasn't being met!
We responded with volunteering to lead a group ourselves if there wasn't one,
and talk about God opening the door immediately to a new chapter in our married life!
We quickly found out this was an area of need being prayed for fervently by pastors in our church,
and our nonchalant offer to lead one was exactly the answer they'd been looking for!
We talkd to several pastors this last Sunday who were so excited for this new opportunity
for us and for our church!
Perhaps that "nonchalant" offer was divine instead.
That same week, we had two couples e-mail us interested in our group.
Sunday we sat in front of a young couple who got married 2 weeks ago,
moved here from St. Louis Tuesday,
and were visiting Trinity for the first time.
They called back Monday and are coming to our group.
I had lunch with a dear college friend yesterday.
They're interested in our group.
It is so exciting to be a part of something bigger than ourselves,
and to constantly see how the Lord is working through our marriage.
Halleluyer!
P.S. My good deed of the month is bringing in a stray Min Pin yesterday and finding his owner who turned out to be a deaf girl who was overjoyed to have him back!
It pays off to take in those strays you see wandering around!
